Women of the ELCA is our Grand Canyon Women’s partner in building a beloved community worthy of belonging, of having meaningful connections, of making a difference in the lives of others. Music will be led by Christina Hall, choral director, conductor and Professional singer based in Phoenix, Arizona and is the Director of Music Ministries at Living Water Lutheran Church in Scottsdale.
Bible Study will be led by Rev. Dr. Adele Resmer, formerly with New Journey Lutheran in Fountain Hills. She is retired and now serving as an interim pastor at Peace in the Desert Union Church in Scottsdale.
The Keynote address will be given by Dr. Jennifer Hockenbery, Executive Director of Women of the ELCA. Dr. Hockenbery will share her vision for the Women of the ELCA and how the organization supports women in the pew, in our synod and across the ELCA.
An afternoon activity, Lavished in Love, will be led by Ruth Escobar. Ruth is the Faith and Community Engagement Manager from Lutheran Social Services – Southwest. The activity is a hands-on painting that will creatively translate attendee’s emotion and inspiration from the 1 John 3:1-2 scripture. Attendees will take their finished painting home.
